SUMMER WORKOUT SCHEDULES

Baseball

  • Description: Baseball Camp for all incoming freshmen
  • $150.00 Cash at time of check in
  • Dates and Times: June 20th - 22nd 10am - 12:30pm
  • Check in 30 minutes before start of camp each day

Boys’ Basketball

  • Description: Summer Basketball League and/or practices for all incoming freshmen and returning players in the basketball program. 
  • Frosh and Returning Players Tryouts:  June 3 10am-12pm
  • Dates and Times: We will be practicing and playing games from June 19th - July 1st. Contact coach for the calendar with all the dates/times. 
  • Get Connected: Please fill out the form to stay connected with our basketball program. 
  • Dead Period: June 5th-18th (Good time for vacation)

Girls’ Basketball

  • Description: Summer league and/or practices for incoming ninth graders and returning high school students in the basketball program
  • Dates and times: Summer league – Mondays/Wednesdays, starting June 18, through July 13, TBD
  • Dates and times: JV and Varsity – Start June 20th, practices will be held on Tuesdays and  Thursdays. JV and freshmen will meet from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Varsity will meet from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
  • Dates and times: Freshmen – Practices will be held on the following Saturdays, June 24th, 25th, and    July 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.

  • Dates: June 24th. July 8th & July 29th 
  • Time: 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.

  • Description: Summer Training
  • Dates: July 12th – 13th
  • Time: 9:30 - 11:00 A.M.

  • Description: One day tryouts for 1st semester 6th period PE class (possibly a second day on July 26th)
  • Dates: July 25th  
  • Time: 2:00 P.M.
  • Where: NHS Varsity softball field

Swimming

  • Contact: TBD

Boys’ Tennis

  • Information: Participate in USTA league, local tournaments or private lessons (see Coach Usui for information on Jason James, Roger Auld, just to name a few). STAY/GET IN SHAPE – jog 5 miles a week, do light weightlifting, sit – ups/crunches, core strengthening, etc. You may also participate in the: 1. Corona Youth Tennis League for all levels of players, 2. Clinics and/or Team Tennis Leagues at the Andulka Park, Canyon Crest Country Club, Victoria Country Club (all in Riverside) or other venues, 3. Play in two or more tournaments. Players are encouraged to participate in UTSA junior team tennis. All players hoping to be a part of the varsity squad need to have fulfilled the above in order to be considered for an immediate spot on varsity. It is encouraged that all players sign up and register for Period 6 Tennis, players will avoid missing classes AND will achieve added skill development.

  • Tryouts: Spring try-outs are May 22-26, 3:45 to 5:00pm. Open to everyone except incoming freshmen.
  • Summer try-outs are July 25th -28th & July 31st- Aug 4th at 7:45 am.  Open to all players/ all levels.

  • Must be cleared through athletics using the new online Home Campus portal.

Track

Boys’ Volleyball

  • Description: Open gyms will be announced by the coach. Go to the Norco HS webpage to fill out the interest form to get information from the coach. All players are encouraged to be involved in any available clinics and clubs for growth. Tryout information will be posted on the athletic webpage when available.

Girls’ Volleyball

TRYOUTS: NHS Girls Indoor Volleyball Interest form 2023-24

  • Description: JV and Varsity Tryouts
    • For: Any grade level student with 2+ seasons of club / high school experience. 
    • Dates: July 10th & 11th
    • Time: Tryouts will be in the afternoon/evening but exact times are TBA.
    • Where: NHS Gym 
    • Varsity players that miss any tryouts/practices in July will sit out 1 game per day missed once the season starts.
  • Description: Freshman Team Tryouts
    • For: Freshmen with little or limited experience 
    • Dates: August 10th 
    • Time: After school through 5:30 pm
    • Where: NHS Gym
    • Roster posted on Maxpreps.com by 8:00pm
    • Incoming Freshman can tryout at the JV/Varsity tryouts but should have multiple years of club experience.
    • Must be cleared through athletics using the new online Home Campus portal.

PRACTICES

  • Description: Varsity (ONLY) Summer Practice
    • Dates: Anyone that makes Varsity will practice Monday - Thursday every week in July immediately following tryouts.
    • Time: TBA
    • Where: NHS Gym 
    • Varsity players that miss any tryouts/practices in July will sit out 1 game per day missed once the season starts.
  • Description: Freshman & JV Team Practice
    • Dates: No JV or Freshman practice until school starts.
    • Time: TBA 
    • Where: NHS Gym
    • No practice or anything planned Fridays - Sundays. No practice in June. No practice in August.

Boys/Girls Water Polo

  • Dates: June 19th – July 14th
  • Time: 4:40 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.
  • What to bring: TOWEL, WATER AND COMPETITIVE GOGGLES ARE NEEDED. FULL BODY SUIT OR BOARD SHORTS OR A SPEEDO AND SUNSCREEN.
